The well known player agent Vincenzo Morabito, who amongst other things helped in the transfer of Djibril Cisse from Panathinaikos to Lazio in the summer, spoke to Radiosei regarding the upcoming transfer window.
Morabito stated that two players are on the Lazio radar and could become biancocelesti players in a few months time. First out was Davide Biondini of Cagliari, who has been linked to Lazio since the summer. Morabito stated the player’s contract with Cellino’s squad ends in June, and if the Sardinians are not able to sign a new contract with the player soon a winter transfer is likely. Cellino and Lotito are not known for being best friends, but after the summer move of Marchetti the relation between the two seems to have developed and Morabito stated Cellino is ready to listen to Lotito’s offer. Morabito only had positive words for the midfielder, stating “Biondini is nothing short of Nocerino who moved to Milan in the summer. The player is a versatile midfielder that can be seen as the heir to Brocchi”. Lorik Cana, who was brought in to be an addition for the midfield, has not been able to impress so far and getting Biondini on the cheap might be the addition Lazio needs for the central midfield.
The second player that was commented is Rafael Toloi, the young Brazilian central defender from Goias. The under-20 national team player’s representatives are looking for a step forward in the player’s career and therefore a move to Europe is now desired. Morabito commented that if Toloi manages to acquire an EU passport before the end of the January transfer period, Lazio is one of the possible clubs that the youngster could end up with. “This is something that I have stressed to the Brazilian club. If they wish to sell the player and make some profit they have to make sure Toloi has an EU-passport”, concluded Morabito.
