  26/10/2011: Marchetti: We stand tall
email print

The only player that perhaps can be happy with his performance tonight is Federico Marchetti. The former italian international is quickly becoming a fan favourite. After not playing for a whole season he it took him a couple of months to find his form again, but for the last month the goalkeeper has been one of the teams most consistent players. After the match he spoke to both SKY and Mediaset: "Lazio had a good match, but lacked a little luck. After they scored we reacted and we deserved to get the winning goal but was not able to get it. I think the team has the potential to finish high on the standings in the end."

Sunday Lazio are expected to bounce back with a tricky away fixture against Cagliari. For Marchetti this will be a special match since he will face the team he played three years for:

"I do not think of it as a revenge. Cagliari is in my past, but it is also a part of my life."
